MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS PAGE

The City Clerk serves as the Supervisor of Elections for the City and coordinates all Municipal Elections with the Lake County Supervisor of Elections.  She is the official filing officer for candidates seeking elective office in the City of Groveland.


The regular election of the City Council Members is held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

The Council consists of five (5) seats with one being reserved for Mayor. The Mayor is elected on a City-wide basis and is not required to reside in  a particular political district.

The remaining four (4) Council seats consists of one for each of the four (4) political districts established and they shall also be elected on a City-wide basis.

 


Officers to be Elected:

 District 1 (Mayor) - Even Numbered Years
District 2 (Vice Mayor) - Off Numbered Years
District 3 (Council) - Even Numbered Years      
District 4 (Council) - Odd Numbered Years

 District 5 (Council - Even Numbered Years


Election, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 

Seats Available:

District 1 (Mayor) - Currently held by Mayor Dina Sweatt
District 3 - Currently held by council member Tim Louks
District 5 - Currently held by council member John Griffin

Qualifying Period 2018 will begin June 18 through June 22, 2018

In order to qualify you must reside within the district boundaries for which you run.

Although the qualifying period is not until June 18 - June 22 you may still begin the process and open a campaign account by filing the following documents with the City Clerk:
