MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS PAGE
The City Clerk serves as the Supervisor of Elections for the City and coordinates all Municipal Elections with the Lake County Supervisor of Elections. She is the official filing officer for candidates seeking elective office in the City of Groveland.
The regular election of the City Council Members is held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
The Council consists of five (5) seats with one being reserved for Mayor. The Mayor is elected on a City-wide basis and is not required to reside in a particular political district.
The remaining four (4) Council seats consists of one for each of the four (4) political districts established and they shall also be elected on a City-wide basis.
Officers to be Elected:
Mayor - District 1 - Even Numbered Years
Council - District 2 - Odd Numbered Years
Council - District 3 - Even Numbered Years
Council - District 4 - Odd Numbered Years
Council - District 5 - Even Numbered Years

District 4 - Currently held by Acting Mayor / Vice Mayor Karen McMican
Qualifying Period 2017 will begin June 19 through June 23, 2017
In order to qualify you must reside within the district boundaries for which you run.
Although the qualifying period is not until June 19 - June 23 you may still begin the process and open a campaign account by filing the following documents with the City Clerk:
DS/DE 9 Appointment of Campaign Treasurer, Designation of Campaign Depository
DS/DE 84 Statement of Candidate - This form must be filed within 10 days of having filed the DS/DE 9 form.
YOU MAY NOT CAMPAIGN OR COLLECT ANY FUNDS UNTIL THESE FORMS ARE FILED WITH THE CITY CLERK
