The Community Development Department prepares changes to the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code and provides information about these documents, as well as various zoning codes, to the residents, property owners, and business owners of Groveland.
The department serves as liaison to the Planning and Zoning Board, the Mayor, and City Council in the review of applications for rezoning, subdivisions, conditional uses, annexations, and site plans. It also advises applicants about the review process, notifies adjacent property owners of sites under review, and provides consistency in decisions related to the Comprehensive Plan.
The department serves as liaison to the Metropolitan Planning Organization and regional planning and community affairs committees, and researches and prepares reports on emerging issues. It reviews plans to ensure compliance with the Code of Ordinances. Community Development coordinates business and residential redevelopment, as well as improvement and enhancement activities within the Groveland community.
F.S 119.011 and 119.07 state “Emails sent to the city of Groveland are subject to public-records requests and that if users do not want their e-mail addresses released to requestors, they should not send e-mail.”
