Parks & Recreation

The Recreational Advisory Committee is seeking further public input. The Committee is working on recommending design ideas to the City Council for new signs identifying The Wysche Center and The Lake David Center. These would be monument style signs and may be similar in size to the sign in front of City Hall. The public is asked to submit drawings, sketches and ideas to City Hall for consideration.

Take a break and rest on one of the many benches that are placed along the walking path. Enjoy the shade on those hot summer days, and the cool breeze coming off the water. Bird watchers, be prepared to mark a lot of names off your check list. The lake and the surrounding area is a wonderful habitat for many birds. You may see Anhinga, Red-winged Blackbirds, Grackle, Cormorants, Sandhill Cranes, Mourning Doves, Wood Ducks, Cardinals, Red-tailed Hawkds, Osprey, Eagles, Herons, Egrets, Blud Jays, Ibis, Chimney Swifts, Woodpeckers, and many more. For more information on birds in central Florida, and a checklist of common birds, Lake County has given us permission to share a link to their website with you, just go to
At Lake David Park, thereĀ is also a skate park equipped for skate boards, BMX bikes and Razor scooters, a basketball court, a volleyball court for your exercise and enjoyment. There is a boat ramp that is open for public use, we just ask that you not “power load” your boat. Help us keep the lake and boat ramp safe and usable. There are two docks in the park, one is located at the boat ramp, and the other is near the gazebo.
Lake David Park has plenty of offer, for the younger ones, there is a playground and for the whole family there are picnic tables. The skate park, basketball courts and pathway are lighted for your safety.
You can reserve the pavilions or the gazebo for your special event. The gazebo has been used many times for weddings. For more information, please contact the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 352-429-2141.
