Building
The Building Department issues residential and commercial permits to the property owners and business owners of Groveland. It advises applicants about the permitting process, and provides information for all types of customer questions and requests. It reviews building plans to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code.
The department registers building contractors for work being done in Groveland, and schedules building inspections as needed during the construction process. It keeps records of permits issued and inspection requests.
It coordinates with the Zoning Department on residential and commercial projects, and issues Certificates of Occupancy for new homes and businesses in the City. It coordinates with the Public Works Department on utility issues, and with Code Enforcement on permit issuance.
