Plan to Widen Turnpike

turnpike

Florida's Turnpike Enterprise is planning to widen the Turnpike Mainline from four to eight lanes from Minneola (Hancock Road) north to the northern ramps at US 27.  This project will have a positive impact on Groveland's and Lake County's economic development efforts.  The project will include converting the partial interchange at US 27 & SR 19 to a full interchange for access north as well as south.  Due to the widening, a new Obrien Road bridge with shoulders, a trail, and a sidewalk is also to be built to replace the existing bridge.  This project is only three years away.  This coming year, you will see construction of the Turnpike Mainline from SR 50 to the Minneola Interchange.  Exciting investments in infrastructure.
