Garbage Pickup
Curbside garbage pickup will be collected on your designated day. A 95-gallon trash can is provided by Progressive Waste Solutions for each customer, free of charge. If you need an additional can, it can be requested by visiting or calling City Hall at 352-429-2141, ext. 222. A fee of $12.95 will be charged for each additional can and this fee will be added to your monthly bill.
Please make sure your can is curbside by 6:30 a.m. on your designated pickup day.
Bulk Pickup
The City of Groveland and would like to inform you that large residential bulk items will be picked up on your regular garbage pickup day. You will be able to discard such items as furniture, mattresses, cardboard boxes, and grills (without gas or propane tanks). Larger bulk items, such as fences, drywall, wood, carpets, kitchen cabinets, etc., will need to be broken down into 3-foot-sections. Items should be placed curbside by 6:30 a.m. on your regular garbage day. Some items will not be accepted for pickup.
Yard Debris Pickup
Yard debris is also picked up on your designated garbage day. WSI will collect all grass and leaves that are bagged or placed in receptacles (not WSI cans) and placed curbside every garbage day by 6:30 a.m. Bags and receptacles should not exceed 50 pounds in weight. All brush and shrubbery trimmings must be cut in 3-foot lengths, tied in bundles, and they should not exceed 50 pounds. No tree stumps, dirt, or rocks will be collected. Please do not mix yard waste with household trash.
Holiday Pickup
There will be no pickup on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Pickup will resume on the following working day or such other day as agreed upon by the city and WSI. Notifications will be placed on your monthly water bill.
Christmas Service
Cardboard boxes and wrappings can be placed curbside and picked up without restriction except as to weight. Natural Christmas trees, no more than 60 pounds in weight and 6 feet in length, will be picked up during the months of December, January, and February.

- Air conditioners
- Clothes dryers
- Conventional and microwave ovens
- Electronic equipment (such as televisions and computers)
- Freezers
- Other similar domestic items
- Refrigerators
- Washing machines
- Water heaters
These include, but are not limited to
- Asbestos
- Batteries
- Chemicals
- Corrosives
- Fire extinguishers
- Motor vehicle parts
- Oil
- Other hazardous materials
- Oxygen tanks
- Paint
- Petroleum
- Propane tanks
- Roofing materials
